Ryan Dunn Commits to the NOPI Professional Drift Series
Many of you are familiar with the name Ryan Dunn (www.ryandunn.tv), one of the stars in the hugely successful Jackass and Jackass Number Two movies. You may also be familiar with him being on the Viva La Bam show on MTV, or by seeing him on his own TV show on MTV called Homewrecker. What most of you don't know, is that Ryan has a love affair with cars and racing, has his SCCA license and has been competing for over 6 years with Bimmerworks racing BMW’s.
Ryan has an extensive shifter kart racing background, which has helped him develop his skills for racing. Something else that you may not realize, is the fact that he’s a certified "Ultra High Purity" welder in tig, mig, wire feed and laser. He also over saw welding crews in such places as Princeton and NSA. Oh yeah, and he has a full machine shop in his personal garage.
Ryan has participated in 2 Gumball 3000 Rallies, the BullRun and numerous other races that have aired in Europe and the US. He also builds and works on his own cars and makes custom performance parts for them. Those that know Ryan, know that he always has a project vehicle in the works. He’s taking drifting very seriously and wants to be known as a professional driver, not just another actor turned racer. He’s willing to work hard and do whatever it takes to gain the respect of his fellow drivers and the fans. He’ll be instrumental in the building of the car and hands on throughout the whole fabrication process.
Ryan has personally picked the NOPI Professional Drift Series to compete in for many reasons. One being the excitement that NOPI brings to an event, their willingness to work with drivers and to also help develop new young talent for the sport of Drifting. Just like Ryan, NOPI is new to the world of Professional Drifting, but that doesn't mean they are both not serious. NOPI is very happy to have Ryan Dunn commit to the NOPI Professional Drift Series, and is looking forward to working with him and his team at Right Coast Customs.
Right Coast, Inc. (www.rightcoastcars.com) (www.rightcoasttuners.com) - RCI is a car show promotion company with extensive experience in building cars. Rob O'Connor has watched the rapid progression of drifting over the last two years in the US and decided to support drifting by starting a team, which will focus around Ryan Dunn. Rob is currently working on a few things surrounding the team that are not available to be released at this time, but as they come available, NOPI Motorsports will release the news. "We are very happy to be able to announce the news of Ryan Dunn's commitment to the NOPI Professional Drift Series. The same excitement that Ryan holds for racing and motorsports lives strong inside the NOPI Motorports camp. We are excited to be able to work with him, and other Drifters that are running and committing to our new series." Said Michael Meyers, President of NOPI Motorsports.
RCI is working on finalizing sponsorship for their team.
