ANGELA COPE ANNOUNCED AS DRIVER OF THE #13 AIR RIDE TECHNOLOGIES '05 MUSTANG GT
In the season premier of the Forza Motorsport Showdown everyone was introduced to their drivers and Air Ride Technologies was paired with 23 year old Angela Cope, a Puyallup, WA native.
Cope is a third generation racer. Her grandfather, Don Cope, was a former Drag Racer. Darren Cope, Angela's father, drove both in Drag Racing and Late Model Sportsman Series. Her uncle, Derrike Cope, was the winner of the 1990 Daytona 500 and currently races in all three NASCAR premier series; Truck Series, Busch Series and Nextel Cup Series.
Angela came out of the gate strong during the first episode, kicking the pants off of her 5 male competitors. She won the drag racing competition but due to a fuel pick up problem she started the Autocross event a couple of laps down; however, Angela was still able to come in 4th.
Currently Angela and the Air Ride Technologies team are 2nd in point standing.
Tune in this week to see how the Air Ride Technologies '05 GT competes against the other teams' cars, a Camaro, Challenger, Corvette and a pair of 350 Zs. What kind of performance upgrades will the '05 Mustang get? Will Angela get the job done in the Drifting and Autocross competitions?
Keep an eye on the competition this Wednesday, February 28th at 10:00pm (CST) or 11:00pm (EST) on the Speed Channel. If you missed the first show, you can tune in February 29th at 7:00pm (CST) or 8:00pm (EST) to get caught up.
