Woodcliff Lake, NJ - May 4, 2007...
Chicago businessman and racing enthusiast Donald Wilson secured the coveted 18th Man Position on the BMW ORACLE Racing yacht with a winning bid of $102,600 on the tenth and final day of the online auction. The auction, hosted by BMW, raised money for Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the largest global grassroots movement whose mission is to save lives and end breast cancer forever by empowering people, ensuring quality care for all and energizing science to find the cures.
BMW will send Mr. Wilson on a once-in-a-lifetime adventure to Valencia, Spain, where he will occupy the 18th Man position on the BMW ORACLE Racing yacht during the 4th race of the Louis Vuitton Cup Semifinals scheduled for May 18, 2007. In addition, if the BMW ORACLE Racing team advances to the America's Cup, he will ride in the 18th Man position a second time during the America's Cup Match
