It Happened Yesterday: Demon Carburetors on How It’s Made

After eleven hours of filming, the Montreal-based documentary makers of How it’s Made completed their work at Demon Carburetion. They spent the morning in the assembly areas, and in the afternoon, they filmed extensively in the machine shops and in the wet-flow room. They finished the show with engine-bay footage of a Demon carburetor in operation. With almost 600 short films produced, the Demon carburetor segment will be the first to represent our industry.

Within 45 days, a non-narrated adaptation will be reviewed and approved. Following our collaboration with the scriptwriter, the narrative will be created, the voice-over performed by Zac Fine (American version), and the finished product aired by the Discovery Channel next winter.

Gabriel Hoss originally produced How It’s Made documentaries in 1982. These short films had a sound track, but no narration, and were used as fill-ins between television shows. In 2001, How It’s Made emerged in its current form, and today is filmed in High Definition. Gabriel Hoss, director, still travels with the team, remaining active and enthusiastic as ever.
