Register now for AMA Black Cat Gold Dirt Track Grand Championships

Warm up for championships at National Meets

PICKERINGTON, Ohio

The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) is pleased to announce that the amateur dirt-track season is in full swing. In addition to the AMA Black Cat Gold Dirt Track National Meets kicking off at the end of this month, online pre-registration is now available for the AMA Black Cat Gold Dirt Track Grand Championships.

Always one of summer's hottest weeks in amateur racing, the AMA Black Cat Gold Dirt Track Grand Championships will bring the nation's fastest amateur dirt-track racers to Du Quoin, Illinois, June 28-July 5. Racers of all ages will compete in short-track, half-mile, mile and TT events over the course of the event, with the fastest competitors vying for the coveted AMA Dirt Track Horizon Award, given to the amateur racer whose performance suggests he or she is most ready to make an impact at the next level.

You can sign up now for the Grand Championships at the AMA Sports section of the AMA website at www.AMADirectlink.com.

"The racing season is here and going forward at full throttle," said AMA Flat Track Director Ken Saillant. "We encourage all of our amateur racers to register early for the Grand Championships, which will be one of the best ever this year thanks to the continued support of the folks at Black Cat Gold."

Saillant added that he invites all amateur dirt-track competitors to compete in as many AMA Black Cat Gold Dirt Track National Meets as they can, leading up to the Grand Championships. "The National Meets are a great way for amateur racers to see how they stack up against top regional competition and hone their program for the Grand Championships themselves."
