Tindle racing with his heart on his firesuit's sleeve in Atlanta

Former JEGS ProMod Challenge winner Tim Tindle will race for a very special cause when the tour reaches Atlanta Dragway April 24-27 for the 28th annual NHRA Southern Nationals. Tindle will banner the Alabama/Gulf Coast Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to raise awareness for a disease that has stricken his 7-year-old niece Haleigh McRae.

"I am very close to my niece Haleigh and until this happened to her, I had no idea how many children are affected by this disease," said Tindle, a winner of last year's event in Englishtown, N.J. "My family and I want to do anything and everything we can do to help these children. It is an honor and privilege to do this race to benefit this fund, as well as anything else we can do."

As part of this special program, Tindle and crew have turned their 1967 Shelby Mustang GT into a rolling billboard for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Additionally, the entire Tindle Racing crew will wear specially-designed uniforms to help the cause.

Tindle is the reigning JEGS ProMod Challenge Rookie of the Year, although he's certainly not new to the sport of drag racing. The resident of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla., has been bracket racing and participating in big dollar shootouts for 12 years along with his entire family. He owns and operates Tindle Enterprises, one of the largest site contractors in the Florida panhandle.

Leukemia is cancer of the body's blood-forming tissues, including the bone marrow and lymphatic system. It usually starts in the white blood cells. Visit http://www.leukemia-lymphoma.org/all_chap for more information or to make a donation.
