AMA Racing announces revisions to 2008 AMA Flat Track Championship schedule
AMA Racing
PICKERINGTON, Ohio
AMA Racing announced today that two events have been removed from the 2008 Flat Track Championship schedule and a new event has been added. The races that have been cancelled are the GNC Twins half-mile scheduled at Volunteer Speedway, Bulls Gap, Tenn., on June 7 and the TT and short track GNC Singles doubleheader scheduled at Castle Rock Race Park, Castle Rock, Wash., Aug. 8-9. The new event is slated for Aug. 23 at a soon-to-be-announced location.
The Pro Expert Twins Series will be returning in 2008 and will run at select AMA Flat Track Championship GNC Twins events. The class is open to all Basic Expert License holders and any GNC licensed rider with three years experience or less who has not scored a point on GNC Twins equipment.
"We're naturally disappointed to have to cancel these two rounds because we worked very hard to bring AMA Flat Track Championship racing to our fans in Tennessee and Washington," said Flat Track Director Ken Saillant.
"Fortunately for folks living in Tennessee we have our upcoming GNC Twins half-mile round at Mountain Raceway Park in Maryville on June 21, and we plan to make an announcement very soon about a new round we are adding on Saturday, Aug. 23."
