GENERAL TIRE NAMED “OFFICIAL TIRE” OF OFF-ROAD WORLD SERIES

CORONA, Calif., May 7, 2008

Team Lucas has announced that General Tire will serve as the official tire of the Lucas Oil World Series of Off-Road Racing (WSORR) for the 2008 season and beyond. General Tire is one of the premier Team Lucas sponsors and the announcement extends General Tire’s exposure to the growing off-road racing market in the U.S

“We are excited to introduce the General Tire brand to the Lucas Oil World Series of Off-Road Racing,” said Travis Roffler, director of marketing, General Tire. The WSORR is the perfect venue to promote the General Tire Grabber line of light truck and SUV tires,” he said. “The new General Grabber HTS tire was born from off-road racing and this line will continue to expand to meet the demands of the light truck market. General Tire is proud to be the official tire of WSORR and we will continue to live up to that name,” he emphasized.

Team Lucas is a sponsor “package” that provides marketing and exposure opportunities across several Lucas Oil Products properties, ranging from the NFL Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis to powerboat racing to tractor pulls and the World Series of Off-Road Racing, among others.

“General Tire is one of our premier Team Lucas sponsors,” said Jamie Devney, motorsports business manager, Lucas Oil Products. “They have taken full advantage of an exceptional opportunity with WSORR to provide maximum exposure for their full range of high quality, high performance on- and off-road tires this year,” he added.

The Off-Road World Series (WSORR.com) season opener is May 31-June 1 at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Mo., (lucasoilspeedway.com). General Tire joins other major companies such as Lucas Oil, United Trailer, Sunoco Race Fuels and the Forest County Potawatomi as official Series sponsors. The Series races off-road pickup trucks and buggies in front of live spectator audiences throughout the Midwest and the Series is shown nationally on SPEED Channel.
