American Motorcyclist Association announces the AMA Sports Magic Mile Shootout

Famed Du Quoin Magic Mile to host $10,000 winner-take-all Pro Sport main event

AMA Sports, the amateur and Pro-AM racing division of the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA), announced today the AMA Sports Magic Mile Shootout. The $10,000 winner-take-all, 15-lap feature flat-track race will take place Saturday, August 23 on the famous Du Quoin Magic Mile dirt oval in conjunction with opening night of the Du Quoin State Fair in southwest Illinois.

"We organized this event in conjunction with the Du Quoin track, one of the premier mile facilities in the country," said AMA Flat Track Director Ken Saillant. "With a payout of 10 grand and a winner-take-all purse, this is going to be an exciting evening. We are lining up a support race and sponsors now and will be announcing them soon."

Currently licensed AMA Pro Sport competitors and eligible AMA Amateur racers will compete in the 450cc Modified class. Grand National Championship and Expert licensed riders will not be eligible.

Registration will be available online only beginning July 2 at midnight Eastern Daylight Savings Time. The fee is $75 and credit cards are accepted. To register, go to www.AmericanMotorcyclist.com/racing/magicmile.
