Only A Few Days Remain in 8th Annual Infineon Raceway Thanksgiving Food Drive

Due to tough economic times, the need at area food banks has grown tremendously over the last year, particularly throughout Sonoma County. This year, all food collected will be donated to the Committee on the Shelterless (COTS) in Petaluma and Friends in Sonoma Helping (FISH) in Sonoma.

Since the food drive’s inception in 2002, Infineon Raceway has donated more than 11,000 pounds of food to area food banks. This year, with the help of the public, Infineon Raceway looks to break the one-year record of 2,300 pounds collected in 2007.

Nearly 300 pounds of non-perishable food items have already been collected at the raceway, but several hundred more pounds of food are needed.

Those who would like to participate in the food drive can drop off non-perishable food items to the following locations until Nov. 21:

Both COTS and FISH work tirelessly in the community to donate food to families in need. In 2007 alone, COTS served more than 102,000 meals through their Petaluma Kitchen and FISH has been helping Sonoma Valley residents in times of need since 1970.
