NATIONS CUP H2o

NATIONS CUP H2o
LAUSANNE, Switzerland - May 12th 2009

In the past weeks we have been asked by few National Authorities and individual drivers for further details regarding the Nation Cup H2o, such as:

What is Nations Cup H2o (NC H2o)?

International Ordinary Races sanctioned by the National Authorities of the Countries where the race will be organised. The overall winning Nation will be determined by the sum of the 3 best results out of the 4 scored within 2 races by the 2 boat teams representing the Country.

What is the origin of such format?

We got the idea when watching a round of A1 car racing event. The format is applicable to powerboating where we can gather the best drivers from all over the world through their NA and have them competing with identical boats and engines.

Who are the Stakeholders?

- All National Authorities that decide to organise one or more events in their own Countries.

- IDEA Marketing Sa, Promoter of F1 H2O in the UIM (since 1984 we are active with F1 powerboat). Our Company has created a team dedicated to the development of the NC H2o.

- All National Authorities who register a Team to our events. Idea Marketing shall deal exclusively with the NA, no individual registration will be accepted, all drivers must be entered by their NA. Each team shall consist of :

2 drivers + 1 optional reserve driver
1 Team Manager
1 or 2 Radiomen
2 helpers per boat

Any Updates?

NC H2o is a registered trade mark
25 Mercury Optimax 200XZ engines ordered (to be delivered before end of August)
22 Identical Catamarans are under construction as per UIM rules
By next September we will have ready 18 boats and all 22 by October

What about Media & Marketing?

We have signed an agreement with the major distributor of TV sports programs to ensure a worldwide distribution of our recorded events. Each organising Nation will be granted the rights to appoint a local broadcaster for the live coverage of its race.

Our Marketing office will personalize the teams’ boats with the National colours and the NC H2o logo - an area 100x40 cm each side of the boat will be reserved for the Team’s sponsors.

Which are the costs involved?

Registration fee per boat 500 € + (if paid within 3 months prior to the event, for late registration the fee will be 1000 € per boat)

Insurance of the driver Each driver must be properly insured as per local requirements and UIM requirements

Insurace of the boat: 1.000€ per boat per race covering the insurance for damaged equipment (excess 1,500 €)

Travelling expenses : for all people representing the Nation

Contribution fee for organizing an NC H2o Grand Prix will be in the range of 500.000 to 1.000.000 € depending on the required logistic.

With my best regards yours in sportsmanship
