HILLARY WILL TO GIVE NHRA’S FANS ON FACEBOOK, TWITTER AN ‘ALL-ACCESS’ PASS

NHRA
GLENDORA, Calif. (June 25, 2009

Kalitta Motorsports’ Hillary Will, a winner at Topeka in 2008, will provide ‘Insider’ updates from Norwalk this weekend on NHRA’s Facebook and Twitter pages

NHRA will break new ground in its ongoing quest to provide the greatest fan access in all of professional sports when it invites a special guest, Kalitta Motorsports’ Hillary Will, to serve as a celebrity host on its Facebook and Twitter pages during the Third annual Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals June 26-28 at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio.

Will, winner of the 2008 O’Reilly NHRA Summer Nationals at Topeka, will allow NHRA’s fans/followers to be her virtual shadow every step of the way this weekend, from tagging along as she embarks on her morning quest for coffee to her meetings in the pits with fellow drivers, crew members and team owners.

“I’m really looking forward to giving NHRA fans an all-access, behind-the-scenes perspective, to see what I see and hear what I hear,” Will said.

Will, who is currently looking for a ride, will provide about a dozen updates daily on NHRA’s Twitter page (http://twitter.com/NHRA) and 3-4 updates daily on NHRA’s Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/pages/NHRA/64205041409).

Followers of NHRA’s Twitter page will automatically receive the updates on their home pages and they will be tagged at the front of the tweet with “From @HillaryWill:” and will include the hashtag “nhraoh.”

Fans of NHRA’s Facebook page will not automatically receive the updates in their news feeds; rather, they will be accessible via NHRA’s Facebook page as those updates will be posted on NHRA’s Wall from Will’s own Facebook profile.

NHRA unveiled its Facebook and Twitter pages in March of 2009 and they have already grown to more than 10,000 fans/followers on the popular social networking sites.

Headquartered in Glendora, Calif., NHRA is the primary sanctioning body for the sport of drag racing in the United States. It presents 24 events through its NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series. The NHRA has 80,000 members and 140 member tracks. The NHRA-sanctioned sportsman and bracket racing series provide competition opportunities for drivers of all levels. The NHRA develops the stars of tomorrow by offering the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, NHRA Summit Racing Series, and the NHRA Drags: Street Legal Style presented by AAA. The NHRA also offers the Jr. Drag Racing League for youth ages 8 to 17.
