Yokohama Tire Continues as Official Tire Manufacturer of Infineon Raceway

Infineon Raceway
SONOMA, Calif. (June 16, 2009)

Infineon Raceway and Yokohama Tire Corporation have signed a multi-year agreement to extend the tire manufacturer’s status as the “Official Tire Manufacturer” of the raceway through 2011

The extension continues a six-year relationship with Yokohama, which began in 2003. Yokohama will utilize the partnership to entertain tire retailers from around the world in the Sonoma Valley wine country throughout the racing season.

“We’re thrilled to extend our partnership with Yokohama Tire for the next three years,” said Frank Gullum, vice president of sales for Infineon Raceway. “Yokohama is known for their world-class lineup of tires and we’re proud to partner with them across our season of world-class events.”

Yokohama has had a presence at the raceway since 1996, as a sponsor of the Jim Russell Racing Drivers School, which is based at Infineon Raceway. The partnership with the track was a natural progression of that relationship.

"Infineon Raceway is really an exciting track that is always improving,” said Fred Koplin, director of marketing communications for Yokohama. “For fans, drivers and marketing partners, the team at Infineon Raceway strives to exceed expectations, and it is a pleasure to continue our relationship.”
