2010 NASCAR SEASON GETS UNDERWAY FOR BOBBY LABONTE WITH 18th PLACE FINISH AT THE BUDWEISER SHOOTOUT AT DAYTONA

Daytona Beach, Fla.

Bobby Labonte and the No.71 TRG team got the 2010 NASCAR Sprint Cup Season got off to an eventful start in TRG’s first ever Budweiser Shootout at Daytona. After being caught up in a wreck on the final lap of the race, The TaxSlayer.com/Adobe Road Winery Chevrolet finished in 18th position.

Labonte battled tight conditions most of the evening, and prior to the final lap carnage, was running in the 12th position.

“It felt great to get back behind the wheel of the No. 71 and kick off the 2010 season,” Labonte said. “We didn’t have the best handling car out there, and we knew that going in, but in the end we just got caught up in someone else’s mess and there’s just nothing you can do about that – especially at a place like Daytona.”
The crew used the time the 75-lap race offered to its advantage to work on pit stops and communication on pit road under race conditions.

“The Bud Shootout is always an fun race for the fans, and it gives us as a team the opportunity to dust ourselves off from the off season and be fully prepared when the green flag falls at the Daytona 500,” crew chief Doug Randolph said.

After an 18th place qualifying effort yesterday afternoon, the No. 71 TaxSlayer.com Chevrolet will return to the track for the Great American Race on Sunday, February 14. The race will be broadcast live on FOX television beginning at 1 pm Eastern.
