General Motors Scores 21 Racing Championships in 2007
GM Race Teams Complete Successful Season with Drivers and Manufacturers Championships in Stock Car, Road Racing, Drag Racing, Open Wheel and Off-Road Competition
DETROIT - General Motors concluded an impressive 2007 race season after its Cadillac, Chevrolet, HUMMER and Pontiac brands earned a total of 21 racing championships while breaking records and scoring significant victories along the way.

FORD RACING DRIVERS ERIC DE DONCKER AND FRANK KIMMEL EACH CAPTURE SERIES CHAMPIONSHIPS
Eric de Doncker won both Race 1 and 2 in the GT4 European Cup with his No. 98 Mustang FR500C at Magny-Cours, France. His victory in the first race clinched the inaugural GT4 European Cup title for Mustang.
Frank Kimmel, driver of the No. 46 Fusion, finished fifth in the ARCA RE/MAX series race in Toledo, Ohio. Kimmel clinched his ninth series championship, with all of his titles coming in the past 10 seasons.
Carl Edwards was the top Ford driver in the NASCAR Nextel Cup race in Charlotte, N.C., finishing fifth in his No. 99 Fusion. Edwards moves up one spot to fifth in the standings, 240 points behind leader Jeff Gordon.
David Ragan was the top Ford driver in the NASCAR Busch Series race in Charlotte, N.C., finishing sixth in his No. 6 Fusion. Ragan remains fifth in the standings.
DEARBORN, Mich., October 14
Ford Racing fans celepated two championships on two continents over the weekend when Eric de Doncker clinched the GT4 European Cup title in Magny-Cours, France and Frank Kimmel captured his ninth championship in the ARCA RE/MAX Series season finale in Toledo, Ohio.
De Doncker had a terrific weekend, winning both GT4 races in his No. 98 Mustang FR500C and clinching the title in the inaugural season of the GT4 European Cup.

KENSETH TAKES SECOND IN BUSCH RACE; RAIN POSTPONES NEXTEL CUP AND NHRA EVENTS
Matt Kenseth finished second in his No. 17 Fusion at the Carfax 250 Busch Series race at Michigan International Speedway. Kenseth moves up one spot to 11th in the standings.
Joe Foster and Scott Maxwell were the top-finishing Ford drivers in the Grand Prix of Trois-Rivieres in the KONI Challenge, finishing fifth in their No. 55 Mustang FR500C. The duo is second in the championship standings, trailing leaders Jep Thornton and Jeff Segal by 27 points.
Sunday’s 3M Performance 400 at Michigan International Speedway was postponed due to rain. NASCAR has rescheduled the event for noon on Monday. Greg Biffle, driver of the No. 16 Fusion, will start the race from the second position.
John Force, driver of the Castrol GTX Mustang, upset No. 2 qualifier Jack Beckman in first round eliminations Sunday before rain halted racing at the Toyo Tires NHRA Nationals at Maple Grove Raceway. Only three Funny Car races were completed before the rain set in. The rest of the first round is scheduled to resume at 10 a.m. Monday.
DEARBORN, Mich., August 19
Matt Kenseth finished second in Saturday’s NASCAR Busch Series race while the duo of Joe Foster and Scott Maxwell also enjoyed a top-five finish for their Mustang in the KONI Challenge. Rain dampened the rest of the weekend, postponing the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup race and the NHRA event.

FORCE RECORDS 125TH NHRA FUNNY CAR WIN AND KVAPIL CAPTURES VICTORY IN FORD DOMINATED NASCAR TRUCK RACE
John Force, driver of the Castrol GTX Mustang, won Sunday’s Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals in Brainerd, Minnesota. This is the second victory in as many events for Force, who has secured a spot in the Countdown to the Championships.
Travis Kvapil, driver of the No. 6 F-150 in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, won his third race of the season this weekend in Nashville. Kvapil moves up one spot to third in the standings.
Robby Gordon was the top Ford driver in the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup race, finishing fifth in his No. 7 Fusion.
Matt Kenseth was the top Ford driver in the NASCAR Busch Series race, finishing sixth in his No. 17 Fusion, jumping up five spots to 12 th in the standings.

Both John Force and Travis Kvapil captured victories for Ford Racing this weekend that moved both drivers into championship contention.

RAGAN TOP FORD IN BUSCH SERIES, FORCE MAKES IT TO FUNNY CAR FINALS
David Ragan, driver of the No. 6 Fusion was the top Ford in Saturday’s NASCAR Busch Series race at Gateway International Raceway by finishing in sixth. Ragan’s teammate, Carl Edwards, continues to sit atop the series standings with an 852-point lead.
John Force made it all the way to the final round of the Shuck’s Auto Supply NHRA Nationals in Seattle, Washington in his Mustang Funny Car. Force continues to move up in the standings and now sits in eighth.
DEARBORN, Mich., July 22
David Ragan enjoyed a productive weekend at Gateway International Raceway as his sixth place was the best finish by a rookie driver in the Gateway 250. His effort added to his first place cushion in the rookie standings and moves him up one spot to fourth place the NASCAR Busch Series standings.

Buford, Ga. - Kinetic Motorsports posted top results this weekend at the KUMHO Tires Tropical 12-Hours at Homestead SCCA event at Homestead Miami Speedway. The annual 12-hour event encompasses several classes of cars in which multiple drivers embark on a grueling testament of endurance and skill.

THREE VICTORIES AND A RECORDING SETTING POLE POSITION FOR FORD RACING
Matt Kenseth, driver of the No. 17 Fusion in the NASCAR Busch Series, won Saturday’s O’Reilly 300 at Texas Motor Speedway. Kenseth was also the top Fusion driver in Sunday’s Nextel Cup race by finishing in second place.
In the first race back for John Force Racing since the passing of teammate Eric Medlen, Robert Hight drover his AAA of Southern Cal. Mustang to victory in the SummitRacing.com Nationals in Las Vegas.
Tom Nastasi and Ian James, co-drivers of the No. 5 Mustang FR500C in the Grand-Am Koni Challenge Series, won Sunday’s Miami GS 400k at Homestead-Miami Speedway. This is the second victory in a row for the No. 5.
Valerie Limoges became the first female to earn a pole position in a Grand-Am race.

Ford Racing teams visited victory lane three times this weekend as wins came in the NASCAR Busch Series, Koni Challenge Series and in NHRA Funny Car racing.

CONSISTENCY FOR KENSETH, EDWARDS; OTHERS MAKE THEIR MARK FOR FORD RACING
Matt Kenseth, driver of the No. 17 Fusion in the Nextel Cup and Busch Series and Carl Edwards, driver of the No. 99 Fusion in Nextel Cup and the No. 60 Fusion in the Busch Series continue to lead the way for Ford Racing in NASCAR.
Rick Crawford, driver of the No. 14 F-150 in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, made his 250 th career start this weekend and two F-150 rookies finish their day inside the top 10.
Ashley Force, driver of the Castrol GTX Mustang in the NHRA POWERade Series, earned her first professional win in the ACDelco Gatornationals and teammate Robert Hight, posts the quickest and fastest qualifying run in track history.
