AJ ALLMENDINGER PACES FORD AT PHOENIX IN SECOND RACE WITH MANUFACTURER

Ford Racing

AJ ALLMENDINGER – No. 44 Ford Drive one. Ford Fusion (finished 13th)
“We had a decent day in the No. 44 Ford. We were good early on and started working our way up through the field. We got just a little bit of damage on the right front just around half way and it caused our car to tighten up a lot making it hard to turn. I was really hoping for a top-10, but we came up just a little short today. So far we’ve been pretty good in our Fords and we’re gathering information that we can hopefully use going into next year.”

GREG BIFFLE PACES FORD RACING QUALIFIERS AT PHOENIX; WILL START 6TH ON SUNDAY

Ford Racing

GREG BIFFLE – No. 16 3M Ford Fusion (qualified 6th)
YOU WERE FAST IN PRACTICE AND IN QUALIFYING, BUT YOUR EXPRESSION INDICATES YOU THOUGHT YOU COULD GO EVEN FASTER. “Yeah. The sun came out when I went – my luck – and then I just didn’t have enough heat in the tires. I’m really good about getting heat in the tires. I feel like I really pay attention to that, but coming to get the green I didn’t get heat in the tires, and I drove in down there and I went all the way in to the wall – when I was coming to get the green. And then the first lap I just had no grip. That was my fault. So the second lap I just didn’t know how much to expect, so I had be a little top-toeish on the second lap. And the car had more grip on that lap right there by a solid tenth. I just didn’t get all I could get.”

“I love this race track. It’s a lot of fun. I’m looking forward to it. I’ve got a couple of chances left in this season to pick up a win, and we’re continuing to try and chip away at the points. We made some pretty decent gains the last couple of weeks. We’re close to a few guys now, so we’ll see what we can do about continuing to move up, and I’m looking forward to racing here on Sunday.”

GREG BIFFLE PACES FORD AT RAIN-SHORTENED NEW HAMPSHIRE

GREG BIFFLE – No. 16 3M Ford Fusion (finished 18th)
“We had a pretty good car, we just lost our track position there. We decided to pit just for safety, check the fenders and all that, there wasn’t anything wrong with the car, I shouldn’t have pitted, but more importantly, we didn’t have the setup quite right. I moved the track bar with five minutes to go in practice, got a false reading, and it’s kind of unfortunate, you know? This rain just isn’t good. We get screwed every time the rain comes out. These rain races – there’s six, eight guys up there that hadn’t pitted yet, we were running 10th, 11th, 12th, in there, and we finished 18th.”

Teammates Edwards, Biffle and Kenseth Look Forward to New Hampshire

CARL EDWARDS – No. 99 Aflac Ford Fusion

“Last weekend was good, we got our first win in the Nationwide Series, and then we come back to a track that’s just like Milwaukee in a lot of ways, so that will be good there, and then on the Cup side, just try to earn more points and cushion that lead over 13th place. That’s the mission right now, just march forward. Hopefully, we can do that this weekend.”
