This week's 64th Frankfurt Motorshow will see the EF01, Formulec's 100% electric single-seater, celebrate the first anniversary of its maiden development run.
It has been a year full of learning experiences, with a great deal about the intricacies of electric power units becoming clear. Covering over 1,200 kilometres on race tracks as varied as Le Mans and Magny-Cours, running numerous full scale windtunnel sessions and carrying out development work on the test bench has allowed the EF01 to accumulate invaluable experience that will prove vital in the organisation of future electric racing competitions.

Part of the 'LE MANS loking to the future event
Formulec's EF01 single seater will be on display at the 'Le Mans Looking to the Future' exhibition from Wednesday 8 June before completing two timed demonstration laps of the world famous Circuit de la Sarthe. Motorsport's first fully electrically-powered single seater has been designed to meet high levels of performance comparable to that of a Formula 3 car. Thanks to 220KW of power (300bhp), the EF01 accelerates from 0-100km/h in 3 seconds and will go on to a top speed of close to 250km/h.

FCI has signed a partnership with Formulec to sponsor its first electric formula car.
Around Formulec are gathered diverse skills coming from the world of the Formula 1, these companies designed what is currently the fastest Electric Formula Racing Car. The car, powered solely by electricity, already delivers astonishing performances accelerating from 0 to 100 kph in 3 seconds and pursues an objective of 250 kph top speed. To achieve that level of performance, Formulec counts on a selection of the best-in-class technical partners.

Williams Hybrid Power’s MLC flywheel energy storage technology helps to power Porsche 911 GT3 R Hybrid to the lead for eight hours.
Williams Hybrid Power’s novel flywheel technology helped to power an impressive hybrid performance at this weekend’s Nürburgring 24hr race. The Manthey Racing-prepared Porsche 911 GT3 R Hybrid, which uses WHP’s magnetically-loaded composite flywheel system, led the race in the last third of the marathon event, taking the lead at 22:57hrs on Saturday night. The four-man squad of Jörg Bergmeister, Richard Lietz, Marco Holzer & Martin Ragginger maintained position at the front of the field for eight hours until engine problems prematurely curtailed their impressive performance - just a tantalising hour and a quarter from the finish line. The 911 GT3 R Hybrid was one of 33 Porsches to take the start line in a field of 200 entries in this classic endurance race on the Nordschleife.

FORD SETS LAND SPEED RECORD WITH FORD FUSION HYDROGEN 999 FUEL CELL RACECAR
Ford Motor Company made history today by reaching 207.279 mph with the Ford Fusion Hydrogen 999, the world’s first production-based hydrogen fuel cell race car.
The Ford Fusion Hydrogen 999 is Ford’s latest environmental innovation, another step on the road toward commercially viable hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.
The car was designed and built by Ford engineers in collaboration with Ohio State University, Ballard Power Systems and Roush.
WENDOVER, Utah, August 16
Ford Motor Company [NYSE: F] today became the world’s first automaker to set a land speed record for a production-based fuel cell powered car. The Ford Fusion Hydrogren 999 fuel cell car raced to 207.297 mph at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Wendover, Utah to set the record.
