Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Justin Soule and Ricky Dietrich showed their speed on the rough and sandy track as each rider took his first podium spot of the season, finishing second and third, respectively, at the second round of the WORCS series at Stateline in Primm, Nev. Teammate Destry Abbott finished ninth after a hard month battling the flu. Along with the team riders finishing in the top-10, Kawasaki grabbed six of the top-10 spots with Jonathan Davis in sixth, Gary Sutherlin in seventh, and Robby Bell in eighth. Pro 2 class rider Ryan Abbatoye demolished the competition the whole weekend with a dominating victory in both Saturday’s 450A race and Sunday’s Pro 2 main event.

Monster Energy Kawasaki Riders Fill Out Top-10 at WORCS Season Opener

Monster Energy Kawasaki’s off-road riders all finished inside the WORCS Pro top-10 with come-from-behind finishes by Ricky Dietrich, Destry Abbott, and Justin Soulè at the opening round at Speedworld MX Park. Dietrich came from 11th to finish fifth, Abbott from 10th to sixth, and Soulè came back from a hard crash to go from 18th to 10th. Each rider gave 100 percent in the season opener, with all of them in good position going into the second round. Kawasaki rider Ryan Abbatoye finished second in the Pro 2 class just behind the leader.

Amateur dirt trackers set sights on AMA Racing Dirt Track Grand Championships in Du Quoin, Ill., July 17-23

Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Destry Abbott Helps 1X Team Finish Runner-Up in Baja 1000

Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Destry Abbott made his Baja debut with the Blue C/Wahoo’s/ Monster Energy Kawasaki team, scoring second overall in the Pro Motorcycle class. Abbott, along with teammates Robby Bell, Steve Hengeveld, Ryan Penhall and Conner Penhall, helped bring Kawasaki back to Baja after an 11 year hiatus. After 13 hours of competition and almost 700 miles, Abbott and the team finished runner-up by just three minutes.

With immediate effect, David Knight and the off-road team of BMW Motorrad Motorsport will be parting company. The two-times World Enduro Championship winner and winner of the US Grand National Cross Country only joined the BMW Motorrad Team Offroad at the beginning of the 2009 season. The move during the current enduro racing season is by mutual agreement.

Technical stewards announced for AMA Racing Dirt Track Grand Championships

PICKERINGTON, Ohio
The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) has announced the technical stewards for the AMA Racing Dirt Track Grand Championships, which will bring the fastest amateur dirt-track racers in the country to Du Quoin, Ill., this June 27-July 4. Tryce Welch, the country's leading authority on DTX bike setup and motors, will serve as chief DTX technical steward, and technical consultant Josh Lynn will serve as chief technical steward for all other disciplines.

Professionally Licensed Riders Eligible to Compete in Pro-Only Classes AMA Pro Racing and AMA Racing, the amateur racing department of the American Motorcyclist Association, have reached an agreement to include professionally licensed riders during selected days of competition at the AMA Racing Dirt Track Grand Championships to be held from June 27th to July 5th at the Du Quoin State Fairgrounds in Du Quoin, Ill.

“ Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Ricky Dietrich added another win to his season tally with another dominating performance at the fourth round of the WORCS series at the Hollister Hills SVRA Park in Hollister, Calif. The win is his third of the season and brings him back to the top of the points standings. Not far behind Dietrich was teammate Damon Huffman who scored his best finish of the season just off the podium in fourth. Destry Abbott also put in a good ride in ninth to give the Monster Energy Kawasaki team its best overall finish of the season.
