AMA Racing Winter National Short-Track Championships to be held at new Daytona International Speedway venue

PICKERINGTON, Ohio
Amateur dirt-trackers will roost limestone and race into the record books this Feb. 27, 28 and March 1 on the new quarter-mile short-track at Daytona International Speedway. The three-round AMA Racing Winter National Short-Track Championships will feature competition in youth, vet/senior and other amateur classes, with national No. 1 plates on the line.

Castle Rock and Knoxville Added; Daytona TT Changed to Short Track Event
AMA Pro Racing announced today the revised 2010 AMA Pro Flat Track Grand National Championship schedule, featuring $850,000 in purse money and 21 events. In addition, a Short Track National will replace the originally scheduled TT at the opening round in Daytona Beach, Florida on March 3rd.

Six AMA Pro Grand National Championship Riders Still Mathematically In Title Hunt
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (September 17, 2009) - On Saturday, October 24th, the AMA Pro Flat Track Grand National Championship returns to the super fast 5/8-mile track at the Pomona Fairplex in Pomona, Calif., for the first time in a decade. The AMA Pro motorcycle races will be co-sanctioned with Gene Romero's West Coast Flat Track Series (WCFTS) and will be run under current AMA Pro Flat Track rules and regulations.

Wiles Takes AMA Pro Grand National Expert Singles Championship with Win in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (September 8, 2009)
It took two days, but the AMA Pro Grand National Singles Championship concluded on Labor Day with a thrilling 25 lap dogfight. Yeoman work by the Illinois Motorcycle Dealers Association, Illinois State Fairgrounds equipment operators and AMA Pro Racing staff got the saturated bull ring short track ready after rain forced the race, which was originally scheduled to be run on Saturday, to be postponed.

COOLBETH WINS BIG ON INDY MILE TO RECLAIM TWINS POINTS LEAD

Smith Nips Mees for Second as Harley-Davidson Wrecking Crew Fills the Podium
Harley-Davidson Screamin' Eagle factory rider Kenny Coolbeth roared to a decisive win in the AMA Grand National Twins main on the Indy Mile at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. Coolbeth led every lap and constantly pulled away from the field to cross the finish line with a lead of more than nine seconds. Coolbeth, who also won the four-lap Dash for Cash bonus sprint race, moves back into the season points lead with two races left on the schedule.

Mees Holds Five-Point Lead Over Coolbeth for Championship
Latus Harley-Davidson/Screamin’ Eagle rider Joe Kopp won his first AMA Grand National Twins event of the season with a dominating performance on the Beulah Park Mile. Kopp, riding a Harley-Davidson XR750, led the entire race and won by an astonishing margin of 22.03 seconds over Moroney’s Harley-Davidson/Screamin' Eagle rider Bryan Smith, who was second.

All Riders who Qualified for Mains Awarded One Point; Grove City Mile Next on Schedule
After a five year absence, the AMA Pro Grand National Twins Championship returned to the Black Hills Speedway in Rapid City, S.D. and the 69th annual Sturgis Bike Rally. The Black Hills Speedway staff and promoter Corey Brink had the large half mile in great shape for the mid-week event.When the curtain came down on the timed qualifying sessions it was No. 4 Chris Carr on top of the charts with a 24.374 second lap on his Chris Carr Racing / Lancaster Harley-Davidson backed Harley-Davidson. No. 42 Bryan Smith hustled his Screamin' Eagle / Moroney's Harley-Davidson XR 750 to second fast time, a 24.519 second lap.

Mees Retains Series Lead After Grand National Twins Main is Cancelled
An intense thunderstorm that moved over Black Hills Speedway on Tuesday evening caused the cancellation of the AMA Grand National Twins race there. The racing program had started on time and progressed through qualifying and the first three heat races before the storm dropped heavy rain that made the track surface un-raceable. It was the first time in five years that the AMA Grand National Twins motorcycles had raced on the Black Hills Speedway half-mile.

Johnson Reigns in AMA Pro Flat Track Grand National at Hagerstown Speedway

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (July 27, 2009)
After a three week layoff, the stars of the AMA Pro Grand National Twins Championship were back in action on the Hagerstown Speedway half mile Saturday night. Persistent rain showers had the event in jeopardy, but hard work by the track crew rounded the red clay oval into shape. The AMA Pro Racing staff then implemented a short program of two Pro Singles Heats with a 12-lap Main and three Expert Heats, one Dash and a 25-lap National.

Pro and Expert Twins Classes Combined at Half Mile Events to Improve Quality of Racing Product
In an effort to streamline the class structure and improve the quality of the racing product, AMA Pro Racing announced today that the Pro Twins and Expert Twins classes will be combined at all AMA Pro Flat Track National Hot Shoe Half Mile events beginning with the Frederick, Md. event to be held on Saturday, July 4th. Three classes will compete for their share of the $10,000.00 purse; Twins, Expert Singles and Pro Singles.

Milestone for Carr at Bulls Gap?

Chris Carr has been working at a dangerous job for 25 years: a professional motorcycle racer. He has been successful, winning the Grand National Championship seven times. If things go as planned, he will make his 200th GNC podium on June 20 at the half-mile race at Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tenn.

The defending Grand National Twins champion, Harley-Davidson Screamin' Eagle factory rider Kenny Coolbeth, finished second, trailing Smith at the finish line by just 0.046 seconds.

Three Harley-Davidson® Wrecking Crew Riders will be Title Contenders
Championships in AMA Pro Grand National flat track motorcycle racing historically run in streaks, and in 2009 it will be Screamin’ Eagle® Harley-Davidson® factory rider Kenny Coolbeth racing to join an elite list of racers with four consecutive Grand National titles. Coolbeth has won the championship each season since joining the Screamin’ Eagle Harley-Davidson team in 2006. If he earns it again in 2009, Coolbeth would join Carroll Resweber (1958-61), Scott Parker (1994-1998) and Chris Carr (2001-2005) as the only riders to win four or more consecutive AMA Pro Grand National championships.

Updated Schedule Adds Major Races and Markets to Both Series
AMA Pro Racing officials unveiled today a revised 2009 schedule for the AMA Pro Flat Track Grand National Championship and National Hot Shoe Series. The changes bring together a combined 23-race schedule, including 14 Grand National Championship and nine National Hot Shoe events.
