Strong Support for Same-Day Format That Begins This Weekend at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca
This weekend's premier AMA Pro Road Racing events at the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca will be the first races to air on SPEED in a new, same-weekend programming format that was announced last month. SPEED's decision to return to same-day or same-weekend coverage of AMA Pro Road Racing has been welcome news for series competitors, promoters and, most importantly, motorcycle road racing fans.

Sam Rozynski and David Myers fill an All-Buell Podium at ASRA National
Soundwaves.com/H-D/Buell of Frederick rider Joe Rozynski rode a Buell XB12R to win the Thunderbike National at the ASRA Michelin Pro Series event at Heartland Park. It was the first ARSA National win for the veteran Buell racer from Sparta, N.J. Buell riders filled the Thunderbike podium, as Soundwaves.com/H-D/Buell of Frederick rider Sam Rozynski finished second and David Myers finished third on a Buell XB12R.

New Yamaha R1 takes victory at Le Mans 24HR

The Yamaha Austria Racing Team took their first victory of the endurance season on the new 2009 YZF-R1 at Le Mans yesterday. In what was one of the most intense Le Mans Endurance races for some time, YART riders Steve Martin, Igor Jerman and Gwen Giabbani battled flawlessly through difficult racing conditions including heavy rain for nearly 20 hours and a very damp track to take the chequered flag.

With a combined total of over $3.3 million in purse money and cash bonuses posted for the AMA Pro American Superbike, AMA Pro Daytona SportBike, AMA Pro SuperSport and AMA Pro SunTrust Moto-GT championships next season, the total posted payout for the 2009 AMA Pro Road Racing season is more than double the total 2008 purse, AMA Pro officials announced today. Bruce Rossmeyer’s Daytona Racing Buell 1125R Is Third in MOTO-ST Eight Hours
Deeley H-D/Buell Canada/Ruthless Racing rider David Estok executed a dramatic last-lap pass to win the ASRA Pro Thunderbike National at the 25th Annual ASRA Race of Champions at Daytona International Speedway. Riding a Buell XB12R motorcycle, Estok drafted past BMW rider Nate Kern as the pair dashed for the finish line. Hal’s H-D/Buell/Hal’s Speed Shop rider Dan Bilansky finished third, also on a Buell XB12R.
