SPX Donates Autographed Ford Mustang Challenge Race Car to be Auctioned by Barrett-Jackson

SPX Corporation (NYSE: SPW) today announced that it has donated a Ford Mustang FR500S Challenge Race car autographed by numerous race car drivers to raise funds for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (www.StJude.org). The car was obtained through the company's diagnostic tool business, Detroit-based SPX Service Solutions, which has been a service provider to Ford Motor Company for many years. The car is scheduled to be auctioned off by Barrett-Jackson at its January 2010 event in Scottsdale, Arizona, with all of the proceeds going to St. Jude.

Over 4,000 fans attended the fourth annual Don Schumacher Racing Open House on Friday, Sept. 4, all of whom helped raise over $19,000 for Riley Children’s Foundation and Riley Hospital for Children. The event was held in advance of the 55th annual U.S. Nationals at Raceway Park at Indianapolis, the 18th of 24 events of the 2009 NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series.

Ron Capps, the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series Funny Car class-best five-time winner this season driving the NAPA AUTO PARTS Dodge for Don Schumacher Racing, will take to the one-third-mile oval at Madera (Calif.) Speedway for the second time this year on Saturday, Aug. 29. He'll be driving the NAPA/Race for Autism Late Model for Carlos Vieria, for whom he drove back in April in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Western Late Model division.

More Than $10,000 Raised for Speedway Children’s Charities in Eric Medlen’s Name
