New Scholarship Program for Female Race Car Drivers – Project Podium
Founder Lyn St. James Opens Online Application; Deadline March 31
Young women who test their mettle each week on race tracks may be able to enhance their competitive performance through an innovative new scholarship program exclusively for race car drivers. Project Podium, founded by entrepreneur and former Indy 500 driver Lyn St. James, is the newest program of Women in the Winners Circle Foundation, a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization, and is designed to empower active young female race car drivers to help further their early professional careers.

BROWN TO VISIT STUDENTS AT INDIANA STATE UNIVERSITY

FORMULA BMW USA BECOMES FORMULA BMW AMERICAS

Woodcliff Lake, NJ - October 3, 2007
In preparation for its fifth season Formula BMW USA is changing and growing to better meet the needs of young racing drivers in North, Central and South America. To recognize the scope of the championship, Formula BMW USA will add two rounds in support of the Brazilian Formula 1 Grand Prix and be renamed Formula BMW Americas. To further strengthen the young driver development program, BMW Motorsport will also increase the Junior scholarship award to $80,000.
Formula BMW Americas reflects the growth of Formula BMW worldwide. Formula BMW Germany and Formula BMW UK announced on June 28th that the two series will reorganize to form Formula BMW Europe. Formula BMW Europe, Formula BMW Americas and Formula BMW Asia will now comprise the new face of Formula BMW.

BMW TO DONATE VEHICLE TO STUDENTS AT J. HARLEY BONDS CAREER CENTER

Spartanburg, SC - May 18, 2007...
More than 400 automotive technicians-in-training will be present when Dan Doot, technical service manager of the BMW Performance Center in Spartanburg, South Carolina, hands over the keys to a 2006 BMW 325i on Wednesday, May 23, at 10 a.m. at the J. Harley Bonds Career Center, located at 505 North Main Street in Greer, South Carolina. The vehicle will be used as an educational resource for area students interested in pursuing careers as automotive service technicians. The J. Harley Bonds Career Center offers a comprehensive automotive technician training curriculum at the high school vocational/technical level and has been an active Automotive Youth Educational Systems (AYES) technical high school since 2005.

LSJ FOUNDATION AWARDS FOUR SCHOLARSHIPS AT 2006 DRIVER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

Four young female race drivers were awarded scholarships at the four-day 12th annual LSJ Foundation Driver Development Program held in Phoenix Dec. 8-11. The recipients were 15-year-old Chelsea Shillig, 16-year-old Kristen Daggett, 16-year-old Kerstin Smutny and Shannon McIntosh, 17.

AMERICAN SPEED ASSOCIATION EDUCATIONAL SERIES LAUNCHED

The new American Speed Association Educational Series, under the direction of co-partners Steve Einhaus and Peter Raskovic, has announced the newly formed Scholarship program in conjunction with the new series, targeted to begin competition in the spring of 2007 at selected tracks in the Midwest. Ohio Technical College, based out of Cleveland, Ohio, will collaborate with the new series that was formed to attract the school student population to be directly involved with racing through the participation of their high school. Similar to other sporting events, the series teams will compete for points in qualifying events for their school, while being part of a driving force designed to keep the youth population moving and thinking in a positive direction, and further their education through scholarship opportunities.
