Flying Dutchman Gets Grounded in Vegas

At the "11th Hour" veteran off-road racer Dan Vanden Heuvel made the decision to bring his Maxxis Tire PRO Unlimited 2 Chevy race truck to Las Vegas for the opening weekend of racing of the Lucas Oil Off-Road Series presented by Geico Powersports. Quickly the Flying Dutchman team prepped his secondary truck and made arrangements to make the trek across the country hauling his race truck and a load of fiberglass panels to Las Vegas for body part manufacturer Boatec.

Dragonfire Racing Kawasaki Teryx™ Dominates at Baja 1000

The Dragonfire Racing Kawasaki Teryx won its second Baja event of the year in the Sportsman UTV class, under the guidance four veteran drivers during the 42nd running of the Baja 1000. The RUV, piloted by Team Green™ Manager Reid Nordin, Hans Waage, Todd Romano, and Baja legend Larry Roeseler, was a stand out amongst its competitors, coming in ahead of several classes that had started hours before the Teryx.

Holtger Motorsports Becomes a Serious Contender in Light Buggy

The family team of Holtger Motorsports has always made sure that their time at the race track was fun. In 2009 they have had fun finishing on the podium. The three racer team of Stephanie and Craig Paitl (husband and wife) and Bryan Holtger (Stephanie's brother), has seen steady improvement all year long. The team's unappointed leader, Stephanie enjoys the time behind the wheel of the #144 HBI IMCI Goodyear Buggy and much as she does hanging out at the track with family and friends. The guys on the team split their driving duties every weekend and have their own competition between themselves as well as with the other twenty competitors in their class.

Dragonfire Racing Kawasaki Teryx Wins Big at Baja 500

The Dragonfire Racing Kawasaki Teryx won its first ever Baja 500 in the Sportman UTV class by an outstanding margin, putting the Kawasaki Teryx in a league of its own. The RUV (Recreational Utility Vehicle) was piloted by Kawasaki’s own Team Green Manager Reid Nordin and Hans Waage in great weather conditions for the single day event. The two drivers took advantage of the Teryx’s V-Twin engine to finish hours ahead of the next finisher.

The Inaugural Midwest Off-Road Racing Safety & Marketing Seminar

The Midwest Off-Road Racing Community is coming together in Abrams, Wisconsin March 14, for the first of its kind safety and marketing seminar, geared for the short course off road racing community. The safety of the race competitors is at the top of the list for every motorsports sanctioning body, and in recent years the industry has seen new innovations in the field of driver safety. Thankfully, many of those innovations are being implemented in off-road racing. Some of the innovations are highly recommended, while others are required. In many instances, there is more than one product in the marketplace to meet these new safety regulations. Several vendors will be on hand with their safety related product lines on display.

John Mason Sweeps Bark River – Continues Podium Streak and Now Leads Super Buggy Championship

The big weekend also features the 15th annual FCP Chairman’s Cup Challenge, the longest running big money off-road Cup race in the country. Top off-road racers nationwide will descend on the small Wisconsin community with the big track and another record-setting crowd is expected to be on hand to watch the battles in 11 truck, SUV and buggy classes.

In addition to the stock class wins, Emily Miller earned a Safari Pre-Runner class second place finish in her inaugural race, driving the Team HUMMER H2 SUV.
