Opening March 25, 2021, after being closed due to the recognition of our nationwide response to the pandemic virus invasion termed COVID-19, The Petersen Automotive Museum launches a special new exhibition titled "The Aesthetic of Motoring: 90 Years of Pininfarina" - featuring the significance and evolution of the Italian car design firm and coachbuilder.

Virtual Petersen Car Week Makes Up For A COVID Cancel Of Pebble Beach

The Petersen Automotive Museum didn’t want to see the global enthusiasm for Monterey Car Week go away this year like so many other car shows so it’s bottling the essence of the week into 5 days of amazing automotive content. This digital effort includes 12 videos and leaves no one without having something of a summertime car culture experience that will assist in replacing the void created by this China Virus colored and shaped world.

Over 40 of the largest automotive companies have come together to make this happen and the schedule includes live vehicle debuts, online auctions, exclusive interviews, virtual car shows, and even a celebrity judged Concours!

New At The Petersen Automotive Museum - Reclaimed Rust: The James Hetfield Collection

For those who are fans of heavy metal rock music, the name of Metallica is emblazoned at the top of their minds ... this group has only sold 130 million records comprised through a 10 album catalog. The lead singer, guitarist, guitar designer, and one of two forming members of the band to remain a driving force, James Hetfield, started his life in Southern California Downey, came to motor culture honestly through having a father who, when he wasn't at work, was in the garage, tinkering.

2019 Los Angeles Auto Show Highlights

Starting this weekend the Los Angeles Auto Show will be open to the public.  This year Twenty-seven manufacturers have their newest and best wares on display to wet the appetite of the car buying public.  Notably absent was Volvo.  Noticeably present was a lot of "blue".  It appears that this years' favorite color for display is a light blue close to that used on the original BOSS 302's. Audi, BMW, Chevrolet, Ford and Porsche used this color.
