Drayson Racing has been riding a wave of momentum entering today's 58th Running of the 12 Hours of Sebring presented by Fresh from Florida which dated to 2009. The wave hit its crescendo this week at Sebring International Raceway when driver Emanuele Pirro (Rome) attacked from fourth on the starting grid to bring the No. 8 Drayson Racing Lola Coupé with Judd Power into second overall early in the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) season-opener. However, the electrifying run by the two-time Sebring winner came to an end when the alternator failed three hours and 34-minutes into the 12 hour race. Pirro shared the car with regular team drivers Paul Drayson (London/Gloucestershire, UK) and Jonny Cocker (Guisborough, Yorks, UK). Other issues with a water leak dropped the programme further back, eventually closing the day with the United Kingdom-based team fourth in Le Mans Prototype One (LMP1) class, 12th overall.

A successful start to the American Le Mans Series season for Porsche: At the Sebring 12 hour race, Porsche clinched two victories with the Porsche RS Spyder in the sports prototype LMP2 class and the Porsche 911 GT3 RSR in the environmental classification, the Michelin Green X Challenge. The sports car from Weissach proved to be the vehicle that demonstrated the best overall efficiency and fuel consumption at the long distance classic in Florida.

Alex Job Racing (AJR) swept the GTC podium tonight in the 58th running of American Le Mans Series (ALMS) Presented by Tequila Patron Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring race. The AJR entered No. 81 Mission Foods Porsche took the win with the team car No. 23 Battery Tender/Tequila Patron coming second and the No. 80 Car Amigo 911 finishing third.

“ Final eliminations began today for the sixth annual JEGS NHRA Cajun SPORTSnationals at No Problem Raceway Park in Belle Rose, La. After a busy day of qualifying on Friday, event organizers made the decision to set the fields early and begin eliminations early on Saturday due to an approaching storm front. The top qualifiers from Friday “ Frank Aragona (Comp), Art Leong (Super Stock) Wade Owens (Stock), John Benoit (Top Sportsman), Tom Elliott (Top Dragster) and Ronnie Harris (Sportsman Motorcycle) “ each maintained their positions. Of the top qualifiers, only Benoit was able to advance past the second round of eliminations today.

Carl Edwards, driver of the No. 99 Aflac Ford Fusion, and car owner Jack Roush participated in a meeting with NASCAR officials and Penske Racing owner Roger Penske and driver Brad Keselowski. Both Roush and Edwards commented on the meeting during Nationwide Series qualifying on Saturday.

The inaugural Yas Drag Festival a great success as both Tommy Johnson, Jr. and Rod Fuller score three wins.

“Hot Rod” Fuller was the big winner on day two of the Yas Drag Festival taking two of three races against teammate Tommy Johnson, Jr. Both Fuller and Johnson finished the inaugural event at Yas Drag Centre with three wins each.

AMA Racing is pleased to announce that wild card applications are now available for the HANNspree FIM Superbike World Championship Utah USA round on May 29-31 at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah. As the host federation of the World Superbike and World Supersport events, the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) may name two wild card riders for each classification.

The Fiat Yamaha Team riders concluded their pre-season preparation this evening with another strong performance in the humid Qatar night, Valentino Rossi finishing second and Jorge Lorenzo sixth. This was the last time the riders will be on track before the first race, back at the same circuit in three weeks time.

A field of more than 500 of the nation’s best sportsman drag racers has packed the pit area at No Problem Raceway Park in Belle Rose, La., for the opening day of the sixth annual JEGS NHRA Cajun SPORTSnationals. The first of three SPORTSnationals events backed by JEGS Mail Order, the No Problem event has long been a favorite of racers across North America.

The qualifying effort follows an off-season of intense preparation by the team and positions the No. 8 Drayson Racing Lola Coupé with Judd Power as the highest ranking American Le Mans Series (ALMS) privateer entry. The qualifying lap of one minute, 46.46 seconds by Emanuele Pirro (Rome) places the United Kingdom-based, Le Mans Prototype One (LMP1) operation directly behind the factory programme of Peugeot and alongside the factory effort of Aston Martin Racing. Pirro joins regular Drayson Racing pilots Paul Drayson (London/Gloucestershire, UK) and Jonny Cocker (Guisborough, Yorks, UK) for the opening round of the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) at 10:30 (ET).

After a week of preparing for the season opener of the 2010 American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patron season, the JaguarRSR team had a successful qualifying run this afternoon in preparation for Saturday's 58th Annual Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring presented by Fresh from Florida.

“I’m really pleased with the time, but I’m not really pleased with the lap. I didn’t do a very good job. I probably overdrove it going for the pole. We tried to tighten it up some and went too far. I was way too tight and just couldn’t get the speed out of it that I wanted. I’m real happy with the lap time, but I wish I would have driven a little better. I wish I could do it again.”
