Both Westcott Jr. and Westcott Sr. Hit by Engine Problems

Charlie Westcott Jr., Parma, Mich., took the top spot in Mopar® HEMI® Challenge qualifying with a dominant 8.413-second blast in the first qualifying session today in his 1968 HEMI Barracuda. He had an engine failure in the second session and both he and his father, Charlie Westcott Sr., also of Parma, packed up and went home. Charlie Sr. broke during a qualifying session yesterday.

Jeff Teuton Scores First Mopar Dodge Challenger Drag Pak Class Win

Jeff Teuton of Houma, La., driving a Mopar® Dodge Challenger Drag Pak powered by a Mopar 5.9L Magnum V8 engine, took the win in G/Stock Automatic class eliminations today at the Mac Tools U.S. Nationals at O’Reilly Raceway Park at Indianapolis. He becomes the first-ever Mopar Drag Pak driver to win at the U.S. Nationals.

The Imperial War Museum runway at Duxford played host to the youngest ever test driver in Formula One™ history today, with 16 year old Nabil Jeffri seeing his F1™ dream come true as he conducted a day of aero testing for Lotus Racing on the museum’s Cambridgeshire runway. Fairuz Fauzy and Heikki Kovalainen were both on hand to lend their advice to the young Malaysian and Nabil, a key member of the AirAsia ASEAN Driver Development programme, completed the day’s testing, and gave the team valuable pitstop practice throughout a busy day on track for the Anglo – Malaysian squad.

NHRA Get Screened America Pro Mod Drag Racing Series teams have had a nine-week break since their last event in Norwalk, Ohio, and Brad Personett says he and his Personett Performance team has been spending the time busily getting ready for the world’s most prestigious drag race.

American Le Mans Series: Round 8, Mosport

Round 8 of the American Le Mans Series didn’t go according to plan for Jonny Cocker. Along with Paul Drayson, he brought the Drayson Racing Lola-Judd home to fourth place in class at Mosport in Canada last weekend.

Monster Energy Kawasaki's Justin Soule battled back from a tough start to end the night with a top-five finish at the inaugural EnduroCross event in Indianapolis. Kawasaki's filled the top 10 with half the finishers on green machines. Kyle Redmond earned his first career podium with a second place finish, while privateer Gary Sutherlin also raced to his best finish in fourth place. Colton Haaker came across the checkered just behind Soule in sixth, while Jamie Lanza finished eighth.

Monster Energy/ Werner-Springsteen/ Kawasaki's Bryan Smith led his Kawasaki to a historic victory on Saturday night as the brand won its first twins race at the prestigious Indy Mile at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis. It was nearly a perfect night for Smith and his Kawasaki Ninja® 650 as he was the top qualifier, won his heat race, finished third in the Dash For Cash race, and took the main event win. With the Moto GP in town, the win came in front of an international crowd, making it an even sweeter victory.
