Dunlop Tire Road Race Series Makes Stop at New Hampshire

The Dunlop Tire Road Racing Series made its trek to the Northeast to challenge the New Hampshire International Speedway Road Course. An ice cream social highlighted the social activities for the weekend with donations being taken for the late Jimmy Whittemore who died tragically just days before the event.

Matt Mendenhall was a triple class winner over the weekend. Double winners included Bill Trumbley and Scott Clark. Heat and humidity was the talk of the day on both Friday and Saturday but Sunday conditions turned out beautifully. Most importantly it was a safe weekend with no rain in sight. Jimmy Whittemore was recognized with the griding of his kart for Saturday’s PP Can Sprint 360 race. In a very humble gesture, Steve Young won his first national in the highly competitive Spec 125 class on Saturday and gave his 1st place trophy to Bill Whittemore, Jimmy’s dad, in memory of “Jimbo”. Next stop on the Dunlop Tire Road Racing Series will be at Putnam Park in Mt. Meridian, IN Aug. 17-19, 2007. For complete results click here
