Historic Mid-West Facilities Return As WKA Master Tracks

WKA is pleased to announce that both Concept Haulers Motor Speedway in Norway, IL, and Iowa International Raceway in Marshalltown, IA, are once again WKA Master Tracks.

Les Finke, owner of Concept Haulers Motor Speedway (formerly Trane Motor Speedway) since early 2006, has brought it back to world-class status. Les, who was instrumental in the design and construction said, “Track repairs were very much needed after neglect in recent years, but seeing this place as good as new feels great.” WKA will host several events at CHMS this season including the Horstman Gold Cup Michigan Kart Supply Nationals, a WKA Midwest Sprint Series divisional, and a WKA Great Lakes Sprint Series divisional. Les and his son Andy are also owners of Iowa International Raceway in Marshalltown, IA. Located in central Iowa, IIR is one of the mid-west’s best kept secrets. While the facility has hosted many nationals for WKA, as well as IKF and KART, Iowa has needed promotion of grassroots karting. With that focus, the Finke’s have continued to bring people to the sport for the past three years.
