The 2008 Snap-on Stars of Karting presented by the Indy Racing League is proud to announce a new partnership with The Academy of Motorsports. The partnership will mainly focus on a scholarship to be provided to a driver for the 2008 series for one of the The Academy’s students. However, in addition, Stars and The Academy will also work to educate other drivers in the series of the opportunity to join The Academy of Motorsports as a student.
Paul Zalud President of the Stars of Karting said of the scholarship, “As we move into 2008, we have seen the success of our drivers in future professional racing opportunities is directly related to both on track results and off-track presentation / education. The Academy of Motorsports has developed a program that will allow aspiring young drivers a place to focus on both their driving development and their development as a young person into an adult. We are excited to have The Academy of Motorsports involved as we work to offer a place for young driving talent to compete against the best talent in the nation.†Ken Martin of The Academy of Motorsports echoed statements, “The Stars of Karting is a great series that allows all of the best in karting to come together in a series format to test them. As we have developed the Academy, we were aware of karting as a tool to train for a future as a professional driver. In fact, our spokesman Paulie Harraka competed in the Stars of Karting before moving into professional stock car racing. Paulie and I are big fans of the Stars of Karting series and are pleased to complete this association for 2008.†For more information about the Snap-on Stars of Karting presented by IndyCar Series and the PRI All-Stars Karting Classic please visit starsofkarting.com and all promotional inquiries can be directed to jeff@starsofkarting.com.
