WKA Moving Forward

At its March 24th meeting, the WKA Board of Trustees identified the need to increase the Association’s focus on marketing the WKA brand and improving industry relations.

The Trustees called on WKA President, Randy Kugler to assume full responsibility for this new program. His primary focus will now be on Marketing and Industry Relations; looking for new ways to grow the organization and karting in general. He will also be seeking non-karting sponsorships and improving the Association’s relationships with its industry sponsors and business partners. WKA is making other changes in the organization to support this new focus. Dan Stowell has been appointed to the new position of WKA Technical Director. In this position, he will assume responsibility for competition and technical committees, assisting in Tech Manual preparation, conducting competitor surveys, managing the technical inspector certification program and dealing with other technical issues. Marie Borsuk will continue in her role as General Manager, focusing more on customer service and sponsor relations. Marie will be working closely with President Kugler, directly assisting him in the marketing and customer relations area. Sissy Mendenhall has been named Director of Finance. Sissy’s new role will focus more on the financial aspect of the organization, working with budgets as well as overseeing the accounting functions. Sissy will also continue in her role as Road Racing representative. Rick Dresang, WKA’s Chairman of the Board, states that, “We believe these changes will strengthen WKA’s position in the industry. It will build on President Kugler’s strengths, including his industry knowledge and marketing skills to grow WKA. We will rely heavily on the WKA Office Team to assume more of the day-to-day management of the business and Dan Stowell to handle the technical aspects of the organization.” For further information watch http://www.worldkarting.com
