NHRA UNLEASHED TICKET AND RACER REGISTRATION GO ON-SALE FOR INDIANAPOLIS EVENT ON MAY 29TH

NHRA GLENDORA, Calif. (May 25, 2010) Spectator tickets and racer registration for the highly anticipated NHRA Unleashed event in Indianapolis will go on sale to the general public on Saturday May 29th. NHRA Unleashed, is a celebration of pure American horsepower, and will make its inaugural stop at O’Reilly Raceway Park on August 6 – 8.

Tickets for NHRA Unleashed will go on sale at 10 a.m. EDT and can be purchased by visiting NHRA.com and clicking on the NHRA Unleashed logo box. Spectator tickets will also be available the day of the event at the gate. NHRA Unleashed tickets are $10 for adults on Friday and $20 for Saturday and Sunday. A three-day pass is $40 and a Saturday-Sunday pass is $35. Tickets for children 6-12 are $5 for one day, or a three-day ticket is $10. Children five and under are free. Racer registration for all racing classes that will be showcased at the NHRA Unleashed events will open the same time spectator tickets go on sale. Only a limited amount of entries per category are available, so all participants are encouraged to register early. Racer entries can also be purchased through the NHRA Unleashed section of NHRA.com. Two half-hour shows will be produced from each of the four NHRA Unleashed events including the event at O’Reilly Raceway Park. Shows will also be produced from the events at Atlanta Dragway in Commerce, Ga. (June 11-13), National Trail Raceway near Columbus, Ohio (Sept. 10-12) and Gainesville Raceway in Gainesville, Fla. (Nov. 5-7). The shows will be produced by Disrupt/ive Studios, led by Jack Schaeffer and Stephen Pullin who have produced the popular PINKS™, PINKS ALL-OUT™ and PINKS ALL OUTTAKES™ shows. NHRA Unleashed will air each Sunday, beginning Nov. 7, at 10 a.m. on Fox Sports Net owned and operated regional networks nationwide. The eight-week series will conclude the last Sunday of the year, Dec. 26. NHRA Unleashed will air in a minimum of 75 million households through Fox Sports Net’s regions throughout the United States. The Disrupt/ive Studios team will document every aspect of these events to highlight the excitement and lifestyle of NHRA competitors and fans. For the first time in television history, NHRA Unleashed will bring to the screen an in-depth look at the outlaw racing classes, true adrenaline addicts as they pack 2,000 horsepower in a standard production chassis. Each program will take the audience deep into some of NHRA’s most passionate drivers, as hundreds of weekend warriors journey to NHRA Unleashed to win a coveted Wally® trophy. Also taking place at the event will be a casting for “Who Wants to be a Race Car Driver?” a show for individuals who have always dreamed of becoming a race car driver. The show, which is currently in the development stage, is planning to select contenders from the thousands of anticipated auditions at NHRA Unleashed events for the potential opportunity to compete for a life-changing prize: A one-year completely funded ride in an NHRA series. All four NHRA Unleashed events will be held at NHRA-owned and operated facilities, including O’Reilly Raceway Park at Indianapolis; National Trail Raceway near Columbus, Ohio (tickets on sale July 6th for the event weekend of Sept. 10-12); and Gainesville (Fla.) Raceway (tickets on sale Aug. 28th for the event weekend of Nov. 5-7). The NHRA Unleashed events will give fans of all makes and models of muscle cars and all things that go fast the ability to enjoy a sensory-overload high-performance weekend. Each NHRA Unleashed event will feature side-by-side doorslammer drag racing, car shows, an autocross, manufacturers’ midway, dyno, swap meets, kids zone and much more. All of the activities will celebrate the love affair that young and old hot-rodding enthusiasts have with the car culture. Exciting drag racing will take place during the course of the weekend with all event winners receiving the coveted Wally®. Classes involved in the event include 13.0 Heads-up, 12.0 Heads-up, 11.0 Heads-up, 10.0 Heads-up, 8.5 Heads-up, Modified Street, EZ Street, Limited Street, and Outlaw 10.5. All classes that require an NHRA competition license should be NHRA members with the proper certifications. It is recommended that all other classes have a NHRA competition license and be NHRA members. Headquartered in Glendora, Calif., NHRA has 80,000 members and 140 member tracks nationwide.
