Semper Fi Racing Team  Team Owner and Driver Bob Davidson WILLOWS, Calif. Nov. 5, 2010 Nov. 9 and 10 Test Run of New Racing Car by Team 25 for Semper Fi “ Racing Team Semper Fi will test their new car, the Race Car Replicas (RCR) Superlite Eagle, at the Thunderhill Raceway Park on Tuesday, Nov. 9 and Wednesday, Nov. 10 in preparation for December’s 25 Hours of Thunderhill (http://www.Nasa25hour.com), known as the longest endurance race in the world. The team is raising money for the injured marines Semper Fi Fund (http://www.SemperFiFund.org) by asking donors to pledge per lap at http://www.25forSemperFi.org.
Every cent pledged at 25forSemperFi.org will go directly to that fund, which is an A+ rated charity. Pledges will be based on the number of laps the Racing Team Semper Fi car completes in the 2010 25 hours of Thunderhill race as determined by the official NASA race results. Our injured Marines have put their lives on the line for us and they need our help, said Bob Davidson, Semper Fi team owner and driver. We are hopeful that people can rev up their fundraising engines and help us reach the finish line, because our goal is to raise more than $100,000 for these injured heroes. Semper Fi also includes drivers Ric McCormick, Brian Frisselle, Burt Frisselle and Mark Wilkins, builder Fran Hall of RCR and crew chief Dave Capurro. 25 Hours of Thunderhill is the ultra marathon of road racing, Davidson continued. This one-of-a-kind road race requires a well-prepared car, highly experienced drivers, endurance by all and, most of all, some luck. We are excited to be participating in this year’s race! 25 Hours of ThunderhillÂis sanctioned by the National Auto Sport Association (NASA) and co-sponsored by the U.S. Air Force. With more than 80 teams expected, the Racing Team Semper Fi car will be among the favorites in this nail-biting race that holds unexpected turns for all involved. Held at the Thunderhill Raceway, a 3-mile road course in Willows, Calif. about two hours north of San Francisco, the race will host teams consisting of multiple drivers, up to eight crew members and up to four support staff.
