Angie Smith to Face Defending PSM Champ Tonglet in E1 at Joliet

Pro Stock Motorcycle Angie Smith Route 66 Raceway JOLIET, Ill Sat, Jul 09, 2011 Angie Smith 138.jpgNHRA Full Throttle Series Pro Stock Motorcycle rider Angie Smith was locked into the field of 16 at Route 66 Raceway Friday and it was a good thing; the North Carolina native was never able to make a full pass Saturday. Her Friday ET of 7.075 seconds at 185.89 mph stood, putting her in the 14th position and facing defending PSM champ, LE Tonglet. The pairing will be a rematch of last year's semi-finals here where Smith lost an extremely close race to Tonglet, who went on to win the O'Reilly Auto Parts Route 66 NHRA Nationals.
