Team Toyoâ„¢ Off-Road Drivers Continue Strong Performances at Bark River

During Rounds VII, VIII & IX of the Lucas Oil World Series of Off-Road Racing BARK RIVER, MICHIGAN Competing on Toyo® Open Country M/T® (mud terrain) tires, Team Toyo™ Off-Road drivers scored podium finishes during Rounds VII, VIII and IX of the Lucas Oil World Series of Off-Road Racing this past weekend at the WSORR Boss Snowplows Off-Road Challenge at the challenging 1.5-mile Bark River International Raceway.

Competition in the 1600 Light Buggy class is heating up as Team Toyo’s Josh Hintz and Mike Vanden Heuvel finished on the podium in second and third place during Saturday’s intense race. On Sunday, Vanden Heuvel won the event with Hintz in second over a massive 30-car field. The pair of drivers is moving up in the overall championship points for 2007, with Hintz in seventh and Vanden Heuvel in 10th. Also continuing Toyo’s domination in the Super Stock Truck class championship points are Ben Wandahsega and Dave Waldvogel. During Saturday’s race, Waldvogel stood on the podium with a second place finish, while Wandahsega trailed in fifth. On Sunday, Wandahsega regained his championship form by finishing in second place, trailed closely by Waldvogel in third. In the overall 2007 points standings, Wandahsega continues to lead with 168 points, while Waldvogel is second with 160 points. In the Pro 2WD class, Kevin Probst is third in the overall 2007 championship locked in a close battle trailing first overall by only three points. “We congratulate Mike Vanden Heuvel for his win this past Sunday in the competitive 1600 Light Buggy class,” said Stan Chen, manager of events and motorsports, Toyo Tire (U.S.A.)
